Volunteers' Week is a UK-wide campaign to recognise and celebrate the fantastic contribution volunteers make in our society. The theme this year was 'Volunteering For All', highlighting the diverse range of people that give their time in so many different ways.
In the lead up to Volunteers' Week, we launched a photo competition, asking clients and volunteers to share a photo from their volunteering journeys.
Here are the winners:
First Prize - Jamal
I spent the day volunteering with Jill from Step Together, she makes me feel comfortable and composed under pressure. I really enjoyed my volunteering as it was a relaxing day, the people were really nice and I felt so much more confident afterwards - the whole day made me feel BRILLIANT!
Runner-Up Prize - Erika
What Step Together has done for me is amazing. Doing volunteering means I get out of my flat and it gives me something to look forward to. Having borderline personality disorder is hard but meeting the people from Step Together gave me the courage to focus my attention and energy to something positive. Thank you for helping me overcome my fears and believing in me when I never did myself.
Thank you to Nando's and ODEON Cinema for donating the prizes.
