We are really excited to announce the launch of a new partnership with national training provider, BB Training academy, who is aiming to raise £30,000 for Step Together.
BB Training Academy work in partnership with organisations who champion training and employment opportunities for young people and we are delighted that they have chosen to support Step Together.
The company has 2,300 learners and staff who will be challenged to hold sponsored walks, runs, bike rides, sky dives and cake sales to raise as much money as possible.
The funds will be used to help Step Together continue and expand our work providing bespoke volunteering placements to young people that are facing social exclusion.
Currently, 11% of young people aged 16-24 are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
Fay Gibbin, CEO of BB Training Academy, said: “We want to help lower this figure by working with charities like Step Together, who provide a unique service that targets these vulnerable people, helping them to reach their potential. Over the next 12 months we’ll be doing our best to raise as much money as possible to help Step Together reach even more people.”
Mike Silvey, director at Step Together said: “A sum like £30,000 will be incredibly useful to our organisation as it allows us to grow and develop. Less than 5% of our annual budget comes without ties, and as such the money raised by BB Training Academy can be spent where it is needed most: helping young people to get their lives on track. We are really grateful for their support.”
